Church Street Preschool was organized in the spring of 1974 and the first official class year started that fall. The preschool is set up within the guidelines of the New York State (NYS) Department of Education. The preschool also holds a NYS Charter, which allows it to be a site for special services, such as speech therapy and occupational therapy. The need for such services must be determined by the Committee on Preschool Special Education. The preschool is a not-for-profit organization, which is non-sectarian and racially nondiscriminatory. The staff includes teacher’s aide (Mrs. Dugan). The program is administered under the direction of a Board of Directors, which includes parent volunteers from current and past families.
Head Teacher: Miss Rose
My name is Rosemary Finn. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The College of St. Rose in 2007 with a heavy focus on Early Childhood Education. I have taught preschools in Massachusetts as well as New York. PreK is an important first step to a lifetime love of learning! I enjoy planning activities to build and expand on the skills needed for kindergarten readiness. The students will be developing their large and fine motor skills, literacy (learning letters and name recognition), math, and cognitive thinking. They will also have lots of fun while growing socially and emotionally as they play with their friends.
I currently live in Valatie with my husband, Dan, our 4 children and our dog. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Teacher's Aide: Mrs. Dugan
