To our wonderful Church Street Preschool community,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the closure of Church Street Preschool, effective at the end of the current school year. After 52 years of nurturing the youngest members of our community, we are no longer able to sustain operations due to insufficient enrollment for the upcoming school year.

Since our founding, Church Street Preschool has been a safe, welcoming home where hundreds of children have taken their first steps into learning — building confidence, friendships, and a love of school that has carried them forward. Our mission has always been to provide a structured, inclusive environment where children grow through meaningful play, and we are immensely proud of the work our teachers and staff have done to make that possible every single day.

This decision was not made lightly. Despite the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the strength of our program, enrollment has declined to a point where continuing operations would not be financially responsible. We explored every option available to us, and we are heartbroken that we could not find a path forward.

To every family who has trusted us with their child — thank you. To the staff who have given so much of themselves over the years — thank you. And to our community, which has supported us for more than five decades — thank you.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our current families. Resources for local childcare and preschool programs will be shared directly with enrolled families in the coming days.

Church Street Preschool may be closing its doors, but its impact — on the children it shaped and the community it served — will endure.

Church Street Preschool believes in providing a safe, structured, inclusive setting that supports, encourages and inspires each child to develop a love for school and learning. Our fundamental belief that children learn best through meaningful play is reflected in a child-centered program that integrates the cognitive, social, physical, emotional, language, self-help and artistic areas for the total development of the child.
